05/03/2007 - Gekko drives Toshiba's launch of their HD DVD player Gekko, the UK’s leading technology field marketing agency, has been appointed by Toshiba to educate both consumers and store staff for the launch of their HD DVD player. The extensive education programme running throughout March will include dedicated in-store demonstrations for consumers and product briefings for store staff to increase knowledge, drive sales and raise awareness of the new technology and its features. The activity will take place nationally in over 600 Comet, Currys and John Lewis stores. Gekko’s primary objectives are to promote the benefits of the HD DVD over the Blu-ray system and the features of the High Definition player. The features include improved picture and sound quality and higher levels of interactivity. “The introduction of High Definition players is going to improve the quality of TV viewing dramatically, making this a very important launch,” comments Daniel Todaro, Managing Director, Gekko Partners, “To support Toshiba we have employed experienced field marketers to train store staff so they are fully equipped with the sales tools to effectively demonstrate the benefits and features, to capitalise on the market.” “This is one of our most important launches for 2007,” Stephen Beresford, Senior Manager Marketing Communications, Toshiba, “We are excited and confident about the launch, with committed in-store support from Gekko, we look forward to seeing our HD DVD players being number one in the market.” back to news listing ![]() |
