Highly Commended: Gekko
Gekko can consider themselves very unlucky not to have struck gold at least once in the awards this year. Their work for Apple, second in the Direct Sales category was one of the most effective marketing campaigns of the year, but so was the winner of that category and so Gekko and Apple were edged out. Gekko's performance, with Apple in particular, was a study in delivering ROI through a crucial growth period for the brand.
Gekko also showed that this medium size agency can punch above it's weight in the award stakes using ingenuity and superb sales staff. There were typically robust performances from the agency in brand demonstration and brand strategy showing a complete range of skills.
