Digital UK was established to support retailers through the digital switchover of television in the UK. We know that over 8 out of 10 consumers will visit a retailer to discuss and subsequently purchase the equipment required. Whilst Digital UK’s principal remit is communication, telling retailers and consumers – What will happen; When it will happen and What is needed to prepare - many retailers have rightly identified this as a legitimate sales opportunity.
With no internal training function, Digital UK appointed Field Marketing agency Gekko to provide an outsourced training solution to support retailers.
Full training strategy and training materials developed in-house including a call centre solution that have received over 100,000 calls from customers seeking switchover support. It was also recognised as the Gold winner at the 2009 FM awards in the Most Effective Retail Training category. The solution was delivered through a combination of 1:1 training and larger groups to over 25,000 staff in most electrical retailers.
