Once again, Field Marketing agency Gekko has had a very busy Christmas period providing expert support to our clients in the retail channel. As with Christmas 2008, Gekko demonstrators, representing a wide variety of brands, have shown that the deployment of trained product experts into retailers contributes significantly to sales figures. For one client alone, Gekko has delivered a demonstration campaign that accounted for just under 6,000 directly attributable sales, proving that Field Marketing works.

Unlike last year, the wider retail picture looks much more encouraging for the New Year. Figures from John Lewis have indicated a 15.8% sales uplift in the five weeks to January 2nd. This is despite the poor weather that hampered sales in the last week before Christmas.

Whatever happens in 2010, Gekko is confident that it’s approach to Field Marketing will continue to deliver highly attractive ROIs for it’s clients.
