22/02/2012 - First Switchover in the South complete

All analogue TV channels in parts of Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey were switched off for good on February 22nd, signalling the dawn of an all-digital era for more than 480,000 households.

Retailers in the region have received support and training from Digital UK’s Retail Support Executives. The RSE team, deployed and managed by field marketing agency Gekko, have been operating in the Meridian region since March 2011. The award winning training solution, devised by Gekko, has been provided to thousands of retail staff, enabling them to provide consumers with relevant and accurate advise about the Switchover process.

The RSE team will continue to support retailers in the Meridian, London, Tyne Tees and Northern Ireland TV regions until Switchover is completed later in 2012.
